$999.95
This is a percussion conversion of a flintlock pistol, Cal.70 that originally was made in the 1820s (last digit of date illegible) and converted to percussion in 1861 (dated inside of lock). Good + condition. Has semi-faint markings, which are mostly legible. Lock works nicely, but not sold as a shooter. Complete with rod.

FR-445. WWII German FLAK 41 Round with Impact Fuse.
$1249.95
Extremely rare German Ordnance Round. These long rounds (48) were unique to the Flak 41 gun. Only 556 of these guns were produced. Although a vast improvement over the other 88mm Flak Guns (they has a maximum ceiling of 48,000 feet and could fire 20 to 25 rounds per minute!) they were complex, and the shells often jammed upon extraction. By February 1944 only 279 of these guns remained in service. Although an AA gun these could also be used in the anti tank role. Condition is good VG. The casing is split at the lip (extraction problem). Both casing and high explosive round are 1944 dated and nicely marked. It has an impact (anti tank) dummy (reproduction) fuse. Rare.

QTY:
FR-446. WWII German Flak 18 Anti Tank Round.
$699.95
Although primarily an anti aircraft gun these were also used as anti tank guns when the need arose. This example has a 1941 dated casing and a 1944 dated projectile. I has a museum grade reproduction impact fuse that is complete with markings. All three components are nicely marked. Overall it is in VG condition although there must have been a head space issue as the base cracked when fired. There is a neck crack and a couple of small dings in the brass casing. Still a hard to find ordnance item.

FR-687 Circa 1900 US 8 Inch Coastal Defense Gun Primer System
$199.95
These large guns did not fire a conventional cartridge. Instead the projectile, powder charge and primer were loaded as separate components. This gizmo was the primer system. It is a beautifully machined device that unscrews so that a 12 gauge shotgun blank could be loaded inside. The device was then screwed into the guns breech. The gunner would pull a lanyard attached to the rear activating the firing pin which would fire the blank causing the powder charge to ignite. Sounds complicated and time consuming but a trained crew could actually fire several rounds per minute. Having numerous preloaded primer systems standing by helped. These are in excellent condition and except for a SE# and the number "8" (indicating use in an 8" battery) they are unmarked. Each is approximately 6.5" long and weighs nearly 7 pounds. Certainly an unusual ordnance item that was soon replaced by a more conventional primer. CAUTION: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO FIRE THESE. IF YOU HOLD IT WHILE FIRING A BLANK YOU WILL LOSE YOUR HAND! IF YOU FIRE IT WITH A REGULAR SHELL IT WILL BLOW UP SERIOUSLY INJURING YOU. MUST BE 21 YEARS OR OLDER TO PURCHASE.

FR-705 U.S. Civil War M1861 Springfield Rifled Musket (Norfolk Contract)
$1099.95
U.S. Civil War M1861 Springfield Rifled Musket (Norfolk Contract) This is an M1861 Springfield rifled musket produced by Welch, Brown & Company, in Norfolk, Ct. This company delivered 18,000 of these rifles between 1862 and 1863 of which approximately 4,000 were rejected by the government for being an inferior grade. The 1861 Springfield was developed to be the new standard rifle of the U.S. Army. Over 700,000 Model 1861 rifles were produced, with the Springfield Armory increasing its production during the war by contracting out to twenty other firms in the U.S. This particular rifle has been restored due to the stock being cut between the 2nd and 3rd bands. The stock was duffel cut under the third band and a new section of stock was added. The color and look between the two sections of the stocks are a perfect match. The ramrod, middle band and rear sight are reproductions the rest of the parts are all original. The barrel is marked with the V, P and Eagle Head, but is undated. The Lock is marked U.S. Norfolk and 1863. The stock does still remain a partial inspector cartouche, mainly just the circle around the initials are remaining. Overall an excellent example of a restored M1861 contract rifle.

FR-710. WWII Soviet SVT M1940 Tokarev Rifle (Demilled Non Firing)
$1099.95
Good VG example of this classic Soviet semi auto rifle. This one is dated 1941 and was captured by the Fins at some point as it bears their SA issue markings on the receiver. It retains its original Soviet finish; never having been refinished or refurbished it retains approx 85% blueing. The stock shows field use and is worn and dinged. The museum grade demil allows the bolt to function and you can dry fire it. Since the demil is internal, it looks and feels like a live rifle. Large numbers of these were captured by the Germans who preferred them over their bolt action Mauser.

FR-720 US Indian Wars M1873 Trapdoor Carbine Dated 1879
$1699.95
U.S. Indian Wars M1873 Trapdoor carbine dated 1879. This carbine is serial #114599 and is in good+ condition. The stock has typical wear with dings, and some scratching with a partial stock cartouche dated 1887 on the side opposite the lock plate. The stock also has two other stamps, the typical Springfield P at the base of the trigger guard and the number 35 stamped into the wood above the butt plate. Metal has an overall mostly brown/blue patina. Metal surfaces also has some minor pitting spread across the gun. The V, P, and Eagle head are still visible but light. The bore is in good + condition and it has minor pitting but is overall bright. This is a good display gun, very good to mint trapdoor carbines typically sell for $2500 to $3000 so this gun is priced appropriately. We do not recommend firing this carbine and it should be inspected by a gunsmith before even considering doing so. This carbine is sold as an antique only.

FR-724. US Civil War M1861 Springfield Special Model Colt Rifle
$2199.95
When the war commenced, Colt immediately approached the US War Department with an offer to manufacture as many as 500,000 rifle muskets per year. While Colts production estimates were certainly optimistic, his company was known for quality and mass production. After some wrangling, Colt secured a contract for 25,000 muskets of the exact pattern now being made at the United States armory at Springfield. Colt actually had no intention of producing exact replicas of the US M-1861 Springfield, but rather a somewhat simplified design of his own that outwardly resembled the M-1861 the Special Model 1861 Rifle Musket was born. Over the next three years, Colt LG&Y and Amoskeag would produce over 185,000 of these guns for US government and several state contracts. 96,500 of the guns were delivered to Ordnance Department by Colt alone. This colt rifle is in good+ condition with all metal parts having an even cleaned patina. The lock is marked 1864, the Colt Mfg markings are still present but are extremely light due to polishing. All parts are original to the gun as is noted by the lack of barrel band springs, Colt were more similar to the Enfield in design this way, the bands had screws to tighten and hold the bands on. The gun also has an old repair to the butt stock. These Colts are difficult to find among the M1861 Springfield rifles.

FR-725 Mexican Punitive Expedition / WW I US 1903 Springfield Rifle (Demilled-Non Firing)

This is a VG example of an early (1907 produced) rifle manufactured at the Springfield Armory. It was rebarreled (2-16) placing its use well within both conflicts. The metal is VG with no rust or pitting and it retains 80% of its finish. It has the 1916 style checkered butt plate. This is a museum grade demil so it looks and feels like a live rifle. The bolt fully functions and dry fires. The demil is internal and cannot be seen from the outside. Pre WW I rifles are scarce!

FR-915 1816 Conversion Springfield made by U.S. Johnson
$1799.95
This is probably the cleanest 1816 we have ever seen. This smoothbore musket was made by Johnson a contract manufacturer for Springfield Arsenal. The overall condition of this conversion is very good to excellent with the only flaw being some light to moderate pitting around the nipple on the barrel and on the hammer. The barrel is proof marked and is dated 1831 and the lock is dated 1830. The wood and rest of the metal is excellent with a light grey patina with little to no pitting. The three bands are all marked B11 which is common as a rack number. The stock retains two cartouches on opposite the lock and the other above the buttplate.

QTY:
FR-924 U.S. Civil War C.S. Richmond Rifle.
$4995.95
U.S. Civil War C.S. Richmond rifle. These rifles were first produced in 1861 and were made from captured equipment from the U.S. Arsenal at Harpers Ferry. After Confederate forces captured the stores of parts and manufacturing equipment they moved the manufacturing to Richmond and started producing their own rifles. Due to using this equipment they produced a rifle patterned after the U.S. 1855 Springfield with the exclusion of the tape primer to save on manufacturing time. This created a unique lock plate which still retained the same shape as the 1855 lock including a high hump where the tape primer used to be. In the manufacturing of the Richmond rifles the Confederates employed many captured parts from the Harpers Ferry Arsenal as late as 1864. This particular rifle is a type II variation which reduced the size of the hump on the lock plate. The rifle stock had been cut down post Civil War, which was common to do with surplus military rifles at the time. The original section of stock is from the third band back. It was then restored to its original appearance by replacing the front section of the stock from under the third band forward. The front and rear bands are original 1855 Springfield rifle bands, the middle band, brass nose cap and rear sight leafs are all aged reproductions to complete the rifle. The stock was cut under the third band so that it is virtually indistinguishable from an uncut stock. The metal parts have an even light brown patina. The lock plate has clear and crisp markings, including "C.S. Richmond" and a 1863 date. The stock still retains a cartouche either GA or SA opposite the lock plate, it has one chip missing from behind the lock plate in between the tang of the barrel, the chip is very old and does not detract from the overall appearance, and one very fine crack from the front of the trigger guard for about 2.5". Overall being restored this rifle has an excellent appearance and is almost impossible to tell that it has been cut down without closer inspection. This is about as close to a fully original Richmond as you can get without paying $9,000 to $12,000. We are offering ours at a reduced price due to being cut down and then professionally restored.

FR-936 WWI British Army Sappers Modified No. 1 MkIII Enfield rifle
$349.95
There was a little known series of battles fought along the Western Front in WWI underneath the trenches and nomans land. It was here that British Sappers and German Pioneers (many of whom were miners in their civilian lives) dug Saps under the enemies trench line. These were then filled with explosives and detonated during large attacks, collapsing large sections of the trench line and killing hundreds of enemy soldiers. Both sides knew that the other side was digging and took steps to stop them. Soldiers would listen for digging sounds to locate the enemy and would dig counter saps, their goal to get inside their tunnel, kill them and destroy their sap. This resulted in small, intense engagements in restricted quarters. Fighting was often hand to hand with shovels, picks, trench knives and cut down rifles such as this. This is an original British rifle produced by BSA during the war. It is dated 1918. Our gunsmith has modified it so that it closely resembles those cut down and used by British and Commonwealth sappers such as the one in the Hill 62 museum in Flanders Belgium. Very well marked. Condition is very good. It has been internally demilled to BATF specs so that it cannot be made to fire and is no longer considered a firearm under Federal and California law. This is a museum grade deactivation so the bolt still functions, you can dry fire it, remove the clip etc. It looks and feels just like a live rifle. For more information on this underground war see Beneath Flanders Fields- The Tunnelers War By Peter Barton. Also being produced in Australia is a movie about Australian miners who were active in the Ypres sector. See more information on the movie at this link www.beneathhill60.com.au/index.htm

FR-939 U.S. M1808 Contract flintlock musket made by Asher and Pliny Bartlett
$2899.95
This is an excellent example of a U.S. M1808 Contract flintlock musket made by Asher and Pliny Bartlett of Springfield, Massachusetts. Dated 1813 and still remaining in original flintlock configuration these are getting difficult to find in any kind of condition. Originally contracted for 2,500 it is believed 1,700 were delivered. This was part of an 85,200 contract from this and other contractors that was made due to the threat of a European invasion, of those guns only half were ever delivered. The lock is in good condition with only minor pitting and wear. The lock is marked 1813 U.S. and Bartlett. The eagle is partially obscured by a light stamping or worn down by polishing. The barrel also retains an 1813 and corresponding proof marks. The stock is also marked next to the butt plate S&D which is unknown, possibly the individuals initials who used the gun originally. On the opposite side of the lock the inspectors cartouche circle is just barely visible but you are unable to read any initials. The stock is in excellent condition with only minor dings and scratches. There are two chips out of the ramrod channel between the 1st and 2nd bands but it does not detract from the overall appearance. The metal surfaces have an even brown/grey patina. The lock functions beautifully. This musket also comes with an original bayonet which is marked IN. US and has an inspectors mark as well as a No. 625 inscribed on the mouth of the bayonet. This is an excellent U.S. Military flintlock that are difficult to find in original configuration.

FR-982 U.S. Civil War era Belgian import rifled musket .69 caliber
$799.95
This is an example of the style of weapons that both the Federal and Confederate armies were importing early on in the war. As the war broke out representatives from both the Federal and Confederate Governments flooded Europe looking for any weapons to import to the newly expanding armies. This Belgian example is the typical style that they found which closely resembles the U.S. M1842 Springfield musket. This style rifle was quickly becoming obsolete with the newer style of smaller caliber muzzle loaders and especially the much favored breechloaders. This .69 caliber rifle is in overall good to very good condition with only a few minor flaws. One is that it is lacking a butt plate but still displays nicely and the other is that there is a small Ό hole on the opposite side of the lock. The wrist of the stock also has some minor nicks and hairline cracks. Other than those the rifle is in very good condition and is a very unique design. The bottom of the stock has a flat enclosed ramrod channel, a very unique design folding rear long range site. The metal is an even brown patina with a brass sideplate. Overall an excellent U.S. Civil War era import rifled musket.

BK-119. WAR OF 1812 ERA U.S. NEWSPAPERS.
$39.95
These are Bostons Columbian Centinel, Massachusettss Federalist Newspaper and date from 1811. This was the period leading up to the war. Each paper is approximately 19 Ύ x 14 and is four pages long (complete). Condition is surprisingly good for a disposable item made almost 200 years ago. There will be tattering around the edges however they are basically intact and readable. The paper used has a high rag content so it is not brittle. Each has a handwritten (in ink) name of the subscriber on the front top left corner. Content covers local, national and European (mainly England related) news. Most will have shipping news (example: for Baltimore- the good sloop Friendship, Wilson Knapp, master, will sail with all convenient dispatch- For freight or passage apply to Adams & Wood, No.1 D Spears Wharf.) The advertisements are great- my favorite: Young married woman with a good breast of milk and good recommendations, wishes to go into a family to nurse a child... These are extremely interesting and make a great gift- what was happening on your birthday 196 years ago ? Availabledates: 2 March 1811, 13 April 1811, 17 April 1811, 3 July 1811, 11 September 1811, 5 October 1811, 9 November 1811, 13 November 1811, 20 November 1811, 27 November 1811, 30 November 1811, 11 December 1811, 14 December 1811, TYPICAL EXAMPLE IS SHOWN. SW-453 Unusual Samurai Sword, Japanese Army Officer's Quality Suke Hiro Copy
$2499.95
This unusual Samurai sword is the first of this type we have had! WW II Japanese Army officers Samurai sword. Very interesting example of a nice quality early war sword that was made in the style of one of Japans most famous sword smiths, Suke Hiro. The smith has nicely forged Suke Hiros signature on the tang in the Maru style. The signature extends to both sides of the tang and roughly translates; Suke Hiro, Lord of Ichi Zen 1 Day in Augues 4th year of Enpo (1676). My sword expert believes this was a substitute sword made as a copy of a fine family sword that a young officer could take it with him into battle without risking a national treasure quality sword. This is a nice Showa period (WW II era) quality sword by an above average smith. The (27 blade is bright but has some finger print frosting and light pitting. It has a nice Gentle Doran style temper line. The handle wrap has worn thin in spots but still has a good overall appearance. Military style scabbards and fittings are VG. This a very attractive sword. A true Suke Hiro sword would be worth upwards of $100,00. You can buy this copy for $2499.95. w

$1174.95
VG example of a private purchase hat mfg by the prestigious Erel Firm. A very attractive hat having bullion insignia (eagle is hand sewn). There is a Ό section of moth tracking on the crown otherwise this is a very clean hat with light external age and wear. The lining has wear and most of the leather sweat band is missing except for a section that has the Erel logo. The celluloid sweat shield is cracked and a 1 x ½ piece is missing. The hat is ever so slightly misshapen (I didnt even notice this when I bought it). And could be blocked to improve but it actually looks fine as is.

GH-244. WWII German Army Enlisted Mans Infantry Visor Cap
$429.95
Good example of an issue cap. It has moth damage most of which is not visible from the front: there is a Ό hole on the crown edge and a 1 hole on the side. Additionally there are another 10 nips and BB sized holes that are mostly hidden under the crown fold. The leatherette sweat band is brittle and age cracked, but the lining is otherwise nice with a fully intact sweat shield. It is a size 54 ½. Metal insignia is nice and the chinstrap has moderate crazing. A clean hat with minimum wear that would rate a VG+ if it wasnt for the mothing. Still not a terrible piece.

GH-246. WWII German Kriegsmarine Costal Artillery Enlisted Over Seas Cap
$549.95
Good example of a Normandy Vet bring back (came from family of a 29th Div Vet). This is a Paris maker marked cap that was originally a small size 53 (Ive been told that the French deliberately made extra small caps to stick it to the Boche who knows, but its a good story). Anyway: hat has resized to size 57 during the war by extending the back. This was a very well done alteration and it was restamped size 57. It shows moderate age and wear with moth tracking and holes on both sides near the lower seams. There are seven holes, 2 are pin holes, 3 are BB sized nips, the others are Ό and ½, damage is camouflaged by backing and it looks nicer than it sounds.

Scabbard is undented and retains 80% finish. Has a VG knot, showing light wear and age.

This dagger is a good to very good example of an Eichorn Mfg dagger having a bright double etched blade that is nice and has moderate age and wear with some scratches. The cross guard and pommel are equally nice and retain 60% to 70% of their gilt finish. The creamy colored celluloid handle strongly resembles ivory. It is cracked from age and use which somewhat enhances the ivory look. Despite the many cracks it remains solid. The scabbard retains approximately 30% of its outer layer gilt finish (but still looks good) and has a moderate "rail door" dent approximately 2/3rds of the way down.
